The service can be customised to meet your specific requirements and focus on inspection of the areas of a building you are most concerned about. This makes it an ideal option for shared properties like tenements, where owners or buyers may only need an assessment of exterior building fabric such as masonry, gutters, roof coverings, and chimneys.
Our adaptable report format includes useful additions such as annotated photographs, sketches, and roof layouts. We can also incorporate 'traffic light' ratings to illustrate the condition of different elements of the building. The survey report is interactive and available for online viewing, or as a downloadable PDF for your convenience.

Our Building Survey is ideal for assessing the condition of traditional buildings constructed before 1919 of permeable materials such as stone and lime mortars. These will often have unique features and may be listed or located in a conservation area. We specialise in surveys of traditional buildings and will draw on years of experience to provide advice and recommendations about appropriate maintenance and repair.

For more localised problems we offer a Building Defect Survey. This will focus on a single known issue such as water ingress or unsafe masonry. We may have to ask you to arrange for the area of concern to be opened up in advance of the inspection if the suspected problem is concealed.

Surveying city centre tenements presents several challenges due to their location and height. Conventional access methods, such as scaffolding and cherry pickers, are expensive and often require permits. By employing drones, we quickly and safely inspect parts of the building that are concealed or difficult to access, including parapets, gutters, roofs, and chimneys.
